PREMIER John Brumby reckons Melbourne needs a bit of "verve" and "colour", but without the binge drinking and "biffing".

Mr Brumby refused to answer questions on whether he supported Lord Mayor Robert Doyle’s repeated suggestion that suburban troublemakers needed to be kept out of the city.

“You need cities that have got a bit of colour and a bit of verve and a bit of excitement,” Mr Brumby said. “So I don’t have a problem with that.

"What I have a problem with is people who binge drink, who get too drunk and who go around biffing people.”

But when asked again whether he wanted to ban bogans, Mr Brumby refused to answer the question.

"Diversity" is more than likely your problem, numbskull. Fuckin' Lebs and Islanders and shit from the west comin' into the city and causin' trouble. But guess who gets the blame? "Bogans"!  Angry
