Actually, on second thoughts - nah.


Like Glenn Robbins, pre Kath and Kim when he did Uncle Arthur on the comedy company. Needs a come back I think. One-off though, Uncle Arthur is probably a bit dated for today's audiences.

Glenn is a very funny guy, and on The Panel with Sitch and Cilauro.

Yeah, he's a funny bloke, though not a bogan icon. I can't stand The Panel. The format is boring. It's the biggest waste of Aussie comic talent ever.

Hmmm... when I'm thinking bogan icons, I'm sorta thinking people whom bogans commonly admire and look up to. Chopper was a criminal who was a nobody until they made a movie about him. Hawke had a working class background, but no way was he admired by bogans.

AJ, I was in prison with chopper Read, he's books are anything but TRUE crime!! Try a book Called the green light By Ray Mooney< or SHANTARAM by Gregory David Roberts, Or even the Underbelly Books, and Leadbelly! All pretty good true Aussie Crime.

Gday Pissfarter, I remember Bob Hawke being known as the "Silver Bodgie", now if i am wrong tell me- but i thought Bodgie (and Widgie, the female) were early bogans or Rockers. When i was at school bogans were known as Bogs or Rockers and we were identified by our black ripple sole desert boots. The Bodgies in thier day listened to traditional rock and roll and had as enemies the mods who were all faggots. Instead of having long hair and mullets the bodgies had quiffs or slicked back hair like a traditional rocker. I always thought that Bog was a short version of Bodgie and that since AC/DC we had grown our hair and become bogs. The word Bogan i first heard in about 1984 and it was from a schoolmate who had just moved from Melbourne. From then on we called ourselves bogans.
My point is that there is a direct link between Bodgie and Bogan, so that means that Bob Hawke might be one of us, spite his sudo (cant spell wont spell) leftie views.
Bob Hawke also has a plark (cant spell wont spell) at UWA tavern as a champion drinker of the most solo jugs of beer that has yet to be beaten by any student there, maybe we should start Bogan Studies at UWA!?!?!
