Danny Green V Paul Briggs - July 21 2010

In a fight that really could be a storming encounter, two veteran Australian fighters are set to compete against each other.  IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green 29-3 (26) will take on 35 year old Paul Briggs 26-3 (18) for Green’s belt.

Both fighters look to attack and can punch. Green as most boxing fans know obliterated Roy Jones inside a round back in December 2009. Since then he has tried and failed to entice either Bernard Hopkins or Antonio Tarver into the ring and so goes into this big money native rivalry.

Briggs is coming out of retirement for this fight, his first since February 2007. His original reason for retirement was a problem with his nervous system which has since been cured after an adrenal gland problem was diagnosed and treated.

Briggs will surely have trouble with ring rust but  he gave Tomasz Adamek all he could handle in two fights for the WBC light heavyweight championship before dropping close decisions in both so if he can get himself in shape this could be a classic match up

I'm a big fan of both these guys..this will be a great fight!....Might go down and watch this one live!

You're right. It was a glancing blow, but he went down like a tonne of bricks. The cunt was sposed to have neurological problems. He was medically unfit and should never have been fightin'. But he wanted his pay packet so he fronted up. But he never dove; it wasn't acting. He just wasn't right.
