Sydneys Westie/Bogan Identity Crisis!

I was wondering if anyone knows why  the term Westie has now been replaced by the term Bogan and can anyone please explain the reason for the change?

Aussie Slang Dictionary Definition of Westie:
westie, also westy. Someone from Sydney's western suburbs, often used derogatorily to mean uneducated and/or uncultured. Also someone who acts like a westie.  From what Ive been able to find out on wikipedia the term Westie was first used in the 70s and I was used to describe people living in the suburbs of western Sydney especially those living in public housing in the suburbs of Mt.Druitt and Blacktown.

I was born and raised  in Mt.Druitt and have now been living in  Blacktown for the past 20 years.  I have been a Proud Westie my entire 43 years now Im wondering who the bloody hell I am these days a Bogan or a Westie its confusing the f*ck outta me? Its sad to see the end of Westie that one little word has played a major part of mine and 1000s of other peoples lives but what can ya do. Its only a word its the meaning that is behind the word that counts and for me that means that I will always be extremely proud to be Westie/Bogan!!!

Yeah I reckon ya right about the Lebs they are mainly in the Auburn etc area which is inner west so only tryhard Westie territory, Real Westie Territory is from Parramatta to Penrith area (Mt.Druitt & Blacktown which is where Im from are Westie Capital of Australia and we love it lol).

Mt.Druitt has  been taken over by the FOBS and that can be some scary shit cause they are built like brick shithouses and when one of  those bastards take a dislike to someone they are never alone in that dislike they bring along a fucken mob with em and shit gets outta hand big time.

Blacktown has been invaded by Fucken Sudanese Refuges and I mean 1000s for the fuckers have decided that Blacktown would be a nice place for the entire population of Sudan to live. The Sudanese teenagers hang in gangs of at least 30 at a time and are all packing flick knives and shit and yeah if you happen to be a lone white kid who looks like ya have a wallet/phone/ipod then it theirs for the taking. My son (who is 19 and built like a brick shithouse and has done karate for years so no wimpy lil prick) was bashed 2 in a day by a pack of the Pricks recently.
He opened his mouth to someone about being cashed up at the shopping center when he went to leave they 2 of them said "give us ur money" ...him being a good lil Westie replied "Fuck off Fool" at which point 25 of the bastards jumped from an alley and beat the shit outta him with the metal handle from a shopping trolley...fuck he copped it but yea they still didnt get his wallet which he stuffed down his pants. Next day he did what any decent Westie would and grabbed the 1st one he saw and gave him a hiding, again 15 of them jumped him from an alley, so twice within 24 hours, pack of cruel assholes. And I can tell ya the next time one of those Lil Refuge Fuckers touch my kids they will be BEGGING TO GO BACK TO THEIR OWN WARTORN COUNTRY TO AVOID THE FUCKEN KICKING THIS OLD WESTIE BITCH WILL BE GIVING EM LOL!

Sadly with Australia being invaded by every other fucken country and having to by law embrace their cultures and beliefs we are losing our own along the way! But I never thought I would see the day that the Westie would be replaced by the Wogs, Fobs or the Refuges....its a sad sad day indeed!
